In the Community

We’ve been part of our local community for over a century. During this time we’ve provided local employment, recycling services to individuals and organisations, community and financial support with environmental projects and are very much part of the Yorkshire landscape. This still stands today.

“We have been part of the local community for over 100 years, and are today very much part of a generation that cares about its environment. We will continue to provide employment, forward thinking recycling opportunities for local and national audiences and points of interest for enthusiast groups.”
Matthew Evans, Managing Director

Our many points of interest entice different groups of enthusiasts to enjoy our location in Shipley. Our two acres of uninterrupted habitat is home to a number of species and of particular interest to wildlife experts. Our rail heritage and continuing use of the rail sidings brings rail enthusiasts to the site. We are regularly invited to be a film location and have been seen on episodes of ‘Heartbeat’ and the award-winning ‘Selfish Giant’ by Oscar Wilde.

As part of our ‘education in the community’ programme, we host school and college visits regularly and create competitions that support environmental learning. Talk to us if your school or college would like to visit our site.
